Abstract

Cilj rada bio je utvrditi povezanost prehrane sa oporavkom i povećanjem koncentracije albumina kod osoba koje su imale traumu mozga. U većini slučajeva kod osoba koje su imale traumu mozga, pregledom je utvrđeno stanje pothranjenosti, uključujući sniženu razinu proteina, posebno albumina u serumu. U radu su praćena 3 pacijenta koji su imali teške povrede mozga i bili su u komi vigile. Pacijenti su imali indeks tjelesne mase u intervalu od 14-22 kg/m², a laboratorijski nalazi su pokazali jako nisku koncentraciju albumina u krvi (27- 35 g/L). Tijekom liječenja bili su podvrgnuti enteralnoj prehrani, koja je uključivala proteinske dodatke. Bolničko liječenje je bilo uspješno, pacijentima se povećala tjelesna masa (za oko 12 %), kao i razina albumina (za oko 18 %).

Abstract (english)

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between nutrition and recovery with increasing concentration of albumin in patients who have had brain trauma. In most cases in people who have had brain trauma, undernutrition was found by nutritional screening, including reduced levels of proteins, particularly albumin concentrations. This work provides 3 patients who had severe brain injury and they were into coma Vigil. The patients have body mass index between 14-22 kg/m², and laboratory findings showed a very low concentration of albumin (27-35 g/L). During treatment were subjected to enteral nutrition, which included protein supplements. Inpatient treatment was successful, the body weight increased (for 12 %) and level of albumin increased (for 18 %).
