Abstract

Antagonističko djelovanje prema nepoželjnim i patogenim mikroorganizmima je poželjno svojstvo probiotičkih sojeva. U ovom radu je primjenom turbidimetrijske metode određivana antibakterijska aktivnost bakterijskih sojeva Enterococcus faecium A7 i Lactobacillus fermentum A8 prema test-mikroorganizmima te prema bakterijama mliječne kiseline. Ispitana je bakteriocinska aktivnost metodom s dvostrukom slojem agara. Također su ispitana i autoagregacijska te koagregacijska svojstva probiotičkih sojeva bitna za sposobnost vezanja u gastrointestinalnom traktu. Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju na antimikrobno djelovanje prema test-mikroorganizmima i srodnim bakterijama mliječne kiseline, a soj Lactobacillus fermentum A8 pokazuje i bakteriocinsko djelovanje prema srodnim bakterijskim vrstama.

Abstract (english)

The antagonistic activity against undesirable and pathogen microorganisms is desirable property of probiotic strains. The aim of this work was investigation of antibacterial properties of bacterial strain Enterococcus faecium A7 i Lactobacillus fermentum A8 against test microorganisms and lactic acid bacteria using turbidimetric method. Activity of bacteriocin was investigate by agar spot assay. Autoaggregation and coaggregation properties of probiotic strains, that are important for ability of adhesion in the gastrointestinal tract, were also investigate. The obtained results have shown antibacterial activity against test microorganisms and related lactic acid bacteria, and the Lactobacillus fermentum A8 strain has shown bacteriocin activity against related bacterial species.
