Abstract

Adolescencija predstavlja razdoblje ubrzanog rasta, zbog čega su prehrambene potrebe u ovom periodu značajno povišene, ali također predstavlja i razdoblje želje za slobodom u svim segmentima, pa tako i u prehrani. Zabrinutost fizičkih izgledom vrlo je učestala u ovom periodu zbog čega se adolescent često od-lučuju na redukcijske dijete. Cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti učestalost dijeta među adolescentima jedne sred-nje škole u Zagrebu te saznati koje su najpopularnije provedene dijete. Istraživanje je provedeno upitnikom kojeg je ispunilo 243 ispitanika, od čega 152 adolescentice i 91 adolescenata. U posljednih 6 mjeseci 21% ispitanika je bilo na dijeti od čega samo 6% zbog medicinskih razloga. Trideset i šest posto (36%) ispitanika je nezadovoljno vlastitom tjelesnom masom zbog čega se njih 24% odlučilo provesti redukcijsku dijetu i to tako da su adolescentice češće birale dijetu sa smanjenim udjelom ugljikohidrata, dok su adolescenti češće provodili visoko proteinsku dijetu.

Abstract (english)

Adolescence represents the time of rapid growth when nutritional needs are significantly increased but also represents wish of freedom in all the aspects including nutrition. Preoccupation by appearance is pretty common in this period of life so adolescents often chosose to diet. The aim of this research was to investi-gate the frequency of dieting among adolescents in one high school in Zagreb and find out which diets are the most popular ones among them. The questionnaire was filled out by 243 students, 152 females and 91 males. In the last 6 months 21% participants was dieting, and only 6% was on diet because of their dia-gnose, 36% participants was not satisfied with their weight and that's why 24% of them decided to diet. Females often chose low carb while males chose high protein diet more often.
