Abstract

Polimer se smatra biorazgradivim ako se potpuno razgrađuje na prirodne produkte, kao što su voda, ugljikov dioksid, metan ili biomasa pomoću bioorganizama (bakterije, gljive) ili enzima. U eksperimentalnom dijelu ovog rada istraživani su postupci i načini kojima bi se poboljšala svojstva folija pripravljenih od izolata proteina sirutke (folije A), hitozana (folije B) i pšeničnog glutena (folije C). Pripravljene su folije A i folije B te je u njih dodan [poli(ε-kaprolakton) (PCL)]. Zatim su pripravljene folije C: s kiselim disperzijama (a-folije) i s lužnatim disperzijama (b-folije). Dodatkom montmorilonita (MMT) u njih, dobivamo folije C1. Određivana su svojstva rastezanja te su provedeni testovi za ispitivanje pripravljenih folija, kao što su printabilnost, mjerenje izdržljivosti vara, transparentnost, krutost kod savijanja te test izdržljivosti pri savijanju. Mjeren je gubitak hlapljive mase folija C. Rezultati određivanja pokazuju da folije B imaju veću čvrstoću i tvrdoću, ali ih je u odnosu na druge ispitivane folije bilo teško toplinski zavariti. Folije A imaju veću izdržljivost prema pucanju, ali mnogo nižu otpornost prema savijanju. Dodatak PCL-a imao je različit utjecaj na mehanička svojstva istraživanih materijala. Svojstva starenja folija C ovise o pH disperzije. Glina nije utjecala na brzinu starenja kompozitnih folija C1.

Abstract (english)

A polymer is considered biodegradable if it can completely degrade to its natural compounds, like water, carbon dioxide, methane or biomass by microorganisms or enzymes. In the experimental part of this paper the ways to enhance the properties of whey protein isolate films (films A), chitosan films (films B) and wheat gluten films (films C) were researched. Films A and B were produced and then the [poli(ε-caprolactone) (PCL)] was added to them. Then the films C were produced: using the acid dispersions (a-films) and the basic dispersions (b-films). Films C1 were produced by adding montmorillonite to them. The strain properties were determined, and the measurements, such as printability, sealability of packaging, transparency, bending stiffness and yield test were performed. Volatile mass loss for films C was measured. The results show that films B have better strength and stiffness properties, but had low sealability in comparison to the other tested films. Films A show better breaking resistance, but lesser bending stiffness. The addition of PCL had different effect on the mechanical properties of the tested materials. The aging properties of films C depend on the pH of the solution. Adding the clay did not affect the aging rate of composite films C1.
