Abstract

Prirodna eutektička otapala se posljednjih godina istražuju kao moguća zamjena za sveprisutna hlapiva organska otapala u industriji, dok se biokatalizatori nastoje koristiti umjesto klasične kemijske sinteze zbog bolje kemo- regio- i stereoselektivnosti te utjecaja na okoliš. Cilj ovog rada bio je ispitati mogućnost primjene cijelih stanica kvasca Saccharomyces cerevisiae kao biokatalizatora za enantioselektivnu redukciju 1-(3,4-dimetilfenil)etanona u prirodnim eutektičkim otapalima na bazi kolin-klorida. Također, ispitan je i utjecaj predtretmana stanica kvasca ultrazvukom na iskorištenje reakcije i stereoselektivnost biokatalizatora. S obzirom na praćene parametre, iskorištenje i enantiomerni višak može se zaključiti da predtretman biokatalizatora ultrazvukom pozitivno djeluje na uspješnost enantioselektivne redukcije.

Abstract (english)

Natural deep eutectic solvents have been explored over the last few years as a possible substitute for ubiquitous volatile organic solvents in the industry, while biocatalysts are trying to use instead of classical chemical synthesis due to better chemo- regio- and stereoselectivity and environmental impact. The aim of this study was to examine the possibility of using whole yeast cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as biocatalysts for enantioselective reduction of 1-(3,4-dimethylphenyl) ethanone in choline chloride-based natural deep eutectic solvents. Also, the influence of ultrasound pretreatment on yeast cells on the reaction yield and the biocatalyst stereoselectivity was investigated. Given the observed parameters, the yield and enantiomeric excess, it can be concluded that ultrasound pretreatment of the biocatalyst positively affects the efficiency of enantioselective reduction.
