Abstract

Tršlja je mediteranska biljka ljekovitih i terapeutskih svojstava, najpoznatija po proizvodnji prirodne smole koja se naziva mastika. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je odrediti utjecaj lokacije rasta (Hvar, Lun, Korčula i Barbariga) na koncentraciju fenolnih spojeva i antioksidacijske aktivnosti listova i bobica tršlje. Ukupni fenolni spojevi iz etanolnih ekstrakata listova i bobica tršlje, određeni su spektrofotometrijski po Folin-Ciocalteu metodi, a antioksidacijska aktivnost određena je FRAP metodom. Koncentracija ukupnih fenola u listovima bila je 3 do 7 puta veća nego u bobicama. Najveće vrijednosti ukupnih fenola sadrže ekstrakti tršlje ubrane na području Hvara. Utvrđena je pozitivna linearna korelacija između ukupnih fenola i antioksidacijske aktivnosti za listove i za bobice, što upućuje na zaključak da su upravo fenolni spojevi primarno odgovorni za antioksidacijsku aktivnost tršlje.

Abstract (english)

Mastic tree is a Mediterranean plant which has medical and therapeutic properties. Furthermore, it is most known for making natural resin which is named mastic. The aim of this research was to determine the influence of harvest location (Hvar, Lun, Korčula and Barbariga) on the concentration of the total phenolic contetnt and antioxidant activity of leaves and berries. Total phenolic content from ethanol extract of leaves and berries are determined spectrophotometrically with Folin-Ciocalteu method, while antioxidant activity is determined by FRAP method. Concentration of total phenolic content in leaves was 3 to 7 times higher than in berries. The highest values of phenolic compounds are found in extracts of plant harvested on Hvar. Positive linear correlation was determined between total phenolic content and antioxidant activity for leaves, as well as for berries which leads to the conclusion that phenolic compounds are primarily responsible for antioxidant activity of mastic tree.
