Abstract

Kako bi se povećao prinos i efikasnost u postupcima proizvodnje bioetanola , sve se više istražuju potencijali i mogućnosti primjene ne-Saccharomyces kvasaca koji, za razliku od kvasca Saccharomyces cerevisiae, osim heksoza, mogu fermentirati i pentoze. Pentoze čine značajan udio u hemicelulozi koja se uz celulozu i lignin oslobađa korištenjem različitih metoda predobradbe lignoceluloznih sirovina. Također, u postupcima predobradbe nastaju i spojevi koji mogu negativno utjecati na proizvodni mikroorganizam ali i cijeli bioproces. U ovom radu navedena su istraživanja utjecaja takvih inhibitornih spojeva na neke ne-Saccharomyces kvasce kao što su Kluyveromyces marxianus, Pichia (Sheffersomyces) stipitis, Pachysolen tannophilus i Candida (Sheffersomyces) shehatae koji predstavljaju alternativu u proizvodnji bioetanola tradicionalno korištenom kvascu S. cerevisiae.

Abstract (english)

In order to increase the yield and efficiency in bioethanol production processes, the potentials and possibilities of application of non-Saccharomyces yeast are being investigated, which, unlike the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, can ferment pentoses in addition to hexoses. Pentoses make up a significant share of hemicellulose which, along with cellulose and lignin is released when different pretreatment methods are being used. Also, during the pretreatment processes compounds that can negatively affect the working microorganism and the whole bioprocess are being formed. This paper sumarizes investigations of such inhibitory compounds and their influence on some non-Saccharomyces yeasts such as Kluyveromyces marxianus, Pichia (Sheffersomyces) stipitis, Pachysolen tannophilus and Candida (Sheffersomyces) shehatae which represent an alternative in the traditional production of biothenol where yeast S. cerevisiae is used.
