Abstract

Potreba za brzo dostupnim i isplativim metodama detekcije određenih skupina i spojeva od iznimne je važnosti u znanosti i industriji. Jedna od najčešće korištenih spektroskopskih tehnika je infracrvena spektroskopija tj. IR-spektroskopija (engl. Infra Red). Prednost IR spektroskopije je što IR spektar daje informacije o strukturi i koncentraciji molekula, te je njegovo određivanje relativno brzo, jednostavno i jeftino, a važna je i visoka osjetljivost same metode. Bitno je napomenuti da je metoda nedestruktivna, minimalno invazivna te nije skupa, čime nudi alternativu drugim spektroskopskim metodama. U ovom Završnom radu opisan je teorijski princip infracrvene spektroskopije, načina rada i vrste spektrofotometara te je dan pregled recentnih istraživanja uporabe infracrvene spektroskopije iz područja biotehnologije i biomedicine.

Abstract (english)

The need for rapid and cost-effective methods of detecting certain groups and compounds is extremely important, both, in science and industry. One of the most used spectroscopic methods is infrared spectroscopy, i.e., IR-spectroscopy. The advantages of IR spectroscopy are that IR spectra give information of the molecule structure and concentration. Spectra measuring is relatively fast, easy and cheap and the high sensitivity of the method itself is important as well. It is important to note that the method is non-destructive, minimally invasive and inexpensive, which offers an alternative for other spectroscopic methods. This Bachelor thesis describes the theoretical principle of infrared spectroscopy, methods of operation and types of spectrophotometers, along with an overview of recent research on the use of infrared spectroscopy in the field of biotechnology and biomedicine.
