Abstract

Enteralna prehrana najčešći je oblik medicinske nutritivne terapije i predstavlja unos enteralnih pripravaka oralno ili uz pomoć sonde i stome u gastrointestinalni trakt. Putem sonde aplicirati se mogu komercijalni enteralni pripravci i obroci pripremljeni od cjelovite miksane hrane. S obje vrste prehrane potrebno je zadovoljiti sve nutritivne i energijske potrebe pacijenta. Cilj ovog rada bio je detaljan pregled literature kako bi se utvrdile prednosti i nedostaci enteralne prehrane i prehrane sondom. Pri tome je fokus stavljen na mikrobiološku kontaminaciju, utrošak vremena, ekonomsku isplativost, nutritivni sastav obroka i utjecaj na ishod bolesti. Iako su obroci od cjelovite hrane za prehranu sondom jeftiniji, uzrokuju manje gastrointestinalnih simptoma i pružaju veću raznolikost nutrijenata, komercijalni enteralni pripravci imaju manju mogućnost mikrobiološke kontaminacije, točno definiran nutritivni sastav i u konačnici uzrokuju manje opterećenje bolničkog sustava te se zbog toga i jedni i drugi mogu ravnopravno koristiti u bolničkom sustavu.

Abstract (english)

Enteral nutrition is the most common form of medical nutritional therapy and represents the intake of enteral preparations orally or via tube and stoma into the gastrointestinal tract. Commercial enteral preparations and mixed food can be applied through the tube. In order to develop official recommendations for the use of commercial preparations or mixed feed, it is necessary to consider the advantages and disadvantages of both types of feed. The most important criteria for selection are microbiological contamination, time consumption, economic profitability, nutritional composition of the food itself and the outcome of the disease. Although mixed feeds are cheaper, cause fewer gastrointestinal symptoms and provide a greater variety of nutrients, commercial enteral preparations have less possibility of microbiological contamination, a defined nutritional composition and less required time of hospital staff and overall lower burden on the hospital system, both can equally be used in the hospital system.
