Abstract

Alge predstavljaju izvor mnogih bioaktivnih spojeva kojima se pripisuju brojni pozitivni učinci na zdravlje, a jednu od značajnijih skupina bioaktivnih molekula čine pigmenti klorofili i karotenoidi. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je odrediti utjecaj tehnike ekstrakcije, snage, trajanja i temperature ekstrakcije na prinos klorofila i karotenoida iz pet različitih vrsta algi (Dictyota fasciola, Dictyota dichotoma, Cutleria multifida, Fucus virsoides i Dasycladus vermicularis) te utvrditi optimalne parametre ekstrakcije pri kojima se dobivaju najveći prinosi pigmenata. Ekstrakcija se provela primjenom ultrazvuka i mikrovalova, a obje tehnike provele su se korištenjem 96 %-tnog etanola kao ekstrakcijskog otapala pri 30 ºC, 25 minuta i 530 W te pri 50 C, 30 minuta i 400 W. Udjeli pigmenata određeni su visokoučinkovitom tekućinskom kromatografijom. Rezultati su pokazali da su alge Dictyota dichotoma i Dictyota fasciola vrlo dobar izvor pigmenata te da su mikrovalovi pokazali bolji učinak na prinos pigmenata, dok su učinci ostalih parametara ovisili o vrsti alge.

Abstract (english)

Algae are the source of many bioactive molecules and one of the most significant groups of bioactive molecules are compounds from chlorophyll and carotenoid groups. The aim of this research was to determine the influence of extraction technique, power, duration and temperature on the yield of chlorophyll and carotenoids from five types of algae (Dictyota fasciola, Dictyota dichotoma, Cutleria multifida, Fucus virsoides and Dasycladus vermicularis) and to determine the optimal extraction parameters. Extraction was carried out using ultrasound and microwaves, using 96 % ethanol, at 30 ºC, 25 minutes and 530 W and at 50 ºC, 30 minutes and 400 W. The concentrations of pigments were determined with high-performance liquid chromatography. The results have shown that Dictyota dichotoma and Dictyota fasciola are very good sources of pigments and that microwaves had a better effect on the yield of pigments, while the effects of other parameters depended on the type of algae.
