Abstract

Cilj rada bio je procijeniti kakvoću prehrane i unos fenilalanina u osoba s fenilketonurijom. Istraživanje je obuhvatilo 9 mladih osoba s fenilketonurijom prosječne starosti 23 ± 4 godine. Korištena je dijetetička metoda 24 satno prisjećanje, te su utvrđeni i antropomterijski parametri (tjelesna masa, tjelesna visina, omjer struka i bokova, te udio masnog tkiva): Prema BMI vrijednostima 78 % ispitanika je adekvatnog stupnja uhranjenosti, 11% pothranjeno, i 11% pretilo. Rezultati obrade pokazali su da je udio proteina (19,80% kJ/dan) i ugljikohidrata (63,39 % kJ/dan) u prehrani u skladu s DRI preporukama, dok je unos masti (16,13 % kJ/dan) prenizak. Također, ustanovljen je deficitaran unos selena. Preporučeni unos fenilalanina je individualan, međutim svi su ispitanici imali prihvatljiv unos te aminokiseline, prosječno 300 ± 179 mg.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this work was to evaluate the diet quality and intake of phenylalanine in people with phenylketonuria. The study included 9 young people with phenylketonuria, average age of 23 ± 4. Diet quality assessment was determined with 24-hour recall, and the anthropometric parameters (body weight, body height, waist-hip ratio and body fat ratio) were also evaluated. The body mass index showed that 78% of the examinees have an adequate BMI, 11% are malnourished, and another 11% are obese. Most males indicated the gynoid type fat distribution, while most females showed the android fat distribution according to waist-hip ratio. The body fat percentage is in the acceptable range for women and for men. The results showed that intake of protein (18,90% kJ/day) and intake of fat was too low (16,13 % kJ/day). A deficient intake of selenium was noticed. The recommended intake of phenylalanine is individual, however all of the examinees had an adequate intake, around 300 ± 179 mg.
