Abstract

Šećerna bolest spada u vodeće javnozdravstvene probleme, a broj oboljelih u neprekidnom je porastu diljem svijeta. Jedna od najvažnijih komponenti liječenja šećerne bolesti uz samokontrolu, edukaciju i tjelesnu aktivnost je prehrana. Prehrana za oboljele od šećerne bolesti treba sadržavati sve makronutrijente i mikronutrijente, a naglasak se stavlja na unos složenih ugljikohidrata s niskim glikemijskim indeksom. Primjenom konceptualnih modela analizirani su desetodnevni jelovnici za dvije osnovne škole, jednu u kontinentalnoj i jednu u primorskoj Hrvatskoj te njihova usklađenost s načelima prehrane namijenjene oboljelima od dijabetesa. Jelovnicima su pridružene odabrane oznake koje upućuju na namirnice koje su poželjne u prehrani djece oboljele od šećerne bolesti, te na namirnice koje se preporučuje konzumirati u umjerenim ili ograničenim količinama. Uspoređeni su jelovnici navedenih regija, a školski jelovnici primorske regije pokazali su veću usklađenost s prehrambenim preporukama za oboljele od šećerne bolesti.

Abstract (english)

Diabetes is one of the leading public health problems, and the number of patients is constantly increasing worldwide. One of the most important components of diabetes treatment along with self-control, education and physical activity is nutrition. The diet for diabetics should contain all macronutrients and micronutrients, and emphasis is placed on the intake of complex carbohydrates with a low glycaemic index. Using conceptual models, ten-day menus for two primary schools, one from each region, continental and coastal Croatia, were analysed, as well as their compliance with the principles of nutrition intended for diabetics. The menus are accompanied by selected labels that indicate foods that are desirable in the diet of children with diabetes, and foods that are recommended to be consumed in moderation or in limited quantities. The menus of the mentioned regions were compared, and the school menus of the coastal region showed greater compliance with the dietary recommendations for diabetics.
