Abstract

Količina dodanih šećera u prehrani pripada odrednicama kvalitete prehrane. Glavni cilj rada je bio utvrditi razlike u specifičnim dijetetičkim parametrima kod 607 adolescenata iz CRO-PALS longitudinalnog istraživanja promatrajući unos dodanih šećera (< 10 % vs. > 10 % kcal, < 5 % vs. > 25 % kcal, 1. vs. 4. kvartil unosa). Uzevši u obzir da su provedena dva mjerenja (14/15 godina; 18/19 godina; isti ispitanici), cilj je također bio utvrditi promjenu kroz vrijeme. Korištena dijetetička metoda je 24-satno prisjećanje unosa hrane. Unos dodanih šećera između prvog i drugog mjerenja se značajno smanjio za oba spola (za 6-7 % kcal). Usporedba unutar skupina iste dobi i spola pokazuje da adolescenti koji su imali viši unos dodanih šećera (> 25 % kcal), u usporedbi s adolescentima s manjim unosom (< 5 % kcal), imaju viši unos zaslađenih gaziranih (za 1-8 % kcal) i negaziranih pića (za 1-7 % kcal) te niži unos prehrambenih vlakana (za 1-3 g/1000 kcal) ali i brze hrane (za 1-14 % kcal).

Abstract (english)

The study aimed to determine the differences in dietary parameters of 607 adolescents from the CROPALS longitudinal study based on their added sugar intake (< 10 % vs. > 10 % kcal, < 5 % vs. > 25 % kcal, 1st vs. 4th quartile of intake). Two measurements were taken (at ages 14/15 and 18/19, same respondents) to assess changes over time. The 24-hour dietary recall method was used. The results showed a significant decrease in added sugar intake for both genders between the first and second measurement (by 6-7 % kcal). The comparison within groups of the same age and gender shows that adolescents with higher intake of added sugars (> 25 % kcal), compared to those with lower intake (< 5 % kcal), have higher intake of sweetened carbonated (by 1-8 % kcal) and non-carbonated drinks (by 1-7 % kcal), lower intake of dietary fiber (by 1-3 g/1000 kcal) but also fast food (by 1-14 % kcal).
