Abstract

Otpad nastao preradom bukve jedna je od lignoceluloznih sirovina na kojima se može temeljiti razvoj budućih biotehnoloških procesa. Provedena je predobrada čipsa bukve sumpornom kiselinom (0,5% w/v) u visokotlačnom reaktoru pri različitim temperaturama (160°C, 180°C i 200°C) i vremenima zadržavanja (5, 10, 15 i 20 minuta). Hidrolizat dobiven pri optimalnim uvjetima (180°C/10 minuta) sadržavao je ksilozu s primjesama manoze i galaktoze (10,88 g/L), glukozu (2,16 g/L), arabinozu (0,49 g/L), mravlju kiselinu (0,14 g/L), octenu kiselinu (2,51 g/L) i furane (255,61 mg/L), dok levulinska kiselina pri ovim uvjetima nije detektirana. Koncentracije mravlje, octene, levulinske kiseline, furana i lignina topljivog u kiselini rasle su s povećanjem intenziteta predobrade, tj. povećanjem temperature i produženjem vremena zadržavanja.

Abstract (english)

Waste generated by beech wood processing is one of the lignocellulosic raw materials that can be used in the development of future biotechnological processes. Pretreatment of beech chips with 0,5 % sulfuric acid in high-pressure reactor was performed at different temperatures (160°C, 180°C and 200°C) and residence times (5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes). The hydrolyzate obtained at optimal pretreatment conditions (180°C/10min) contained xylose (10,88 g/L), glucose (2,16 g/L), arabinose (0,49 g/L), formic acid (0,14 g/L), acetic acid (2,51 g/L) and furans (255,61 mg/L), while levulinic acid was not present. Concentrations of formic acid, acetic acid, levulinic acid, furan and acid-soluble lignin are higher at more intense pretreatment conditions, i.e. at higher temperatures and longer residence times.
