Abstract

Juniperus deltoides jedna je od najnovijih vrsta koja je nedavno uvrštena u rod Juniperus. Juniperus deltoides ili šmrika grmolika je biljka rasprostranjena po hrvatskom pirobalju. Cilj rada bio je odrediti udjele vode, šećera, proteina, masti, pepela i celuloze koji su zastupljeni u bobuljastim češerima šmrike. Korištene su različite analitičke metode kao što su sušenje kojim se od-ređivao udio vode, postupci karbonizacije i mineralizacije za određivanje udjela pepela, Kjeldahlov postupak za određivanje udjela proteina, gravimetrijski postupak za određivanje udjela ukupnog inverta odnosno šećera, Soxhletov postupak kojim se određivao udio ukupnih masti te Kürschnerov i Hanakov postupak za određivanje udjela celuloze, a ukupno se analiziralo 13 uzoraka. Iz dobivenih rezultata može se zaključiti kako bobuljasti češeri šmrike sadrže najviše vode i šećera, a najmanje proteina.

Abstract (english)

Juniperus deltoides is one of the newest species belonging to the genus Juniperus. Juniperus deltoides or šmrika is a bush like plant that grows all along the Croatian coast. The aim of this study was to determine the percentages of water, sugar, protein, fat, ash and cellulose that are present in the berry cones of šmrika also known as Juniperus deltoides. Various analytical methods were used, such as drying to determine the water content, carbonization and mineralization methods to determine the ash content, Kjeldahl's method to determine the presence of protein, gravimetric method to determine total invert or sugar, Soxhlet's method to determine total fat content and Kürschner and Hanak's method for determining the cellulose content. 13 samples were analyzed. From the obtained results, it can be concluded that the berry cones of Juniperus deltoides contain the most water and sugars and the least protein.
